Allison Beecroft OCT, B.Sc. (Agr.), B.Ed., M.Ed. is a local dancer, educator and mother of two young boys. Allison has a diverse body of interests from science, to nutrition, to culinary arts to dance. She grew up dancing and performing in musicals in and around the Barrie area. She is a pianist who achieved her Grade 8 level in piano and Grade 2 level in Music Theory from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Allison loves working with children of all ages and is currently employed as an Elementary School Vice-Principal. She enjoys exploring many types and genres of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, Hawaiian, and Bollywood styles and aims to integrate these influences into her teaching and learning in a creative and organic way.
Through dance, Allison helps young children to develop their creativity, language skills, balance, body control, posture, concentration and confidence. Her goal is to assist children to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially through a balance of direct instruction with inquiry based, discovery learning. In her spare time, Allison enjoys being an “extra” in movies and music videos and helping her husband with his music production business. She is thrilled to be working with Damian Spaulding and his team to create meaningful experiences in dance and movement for young children.
